Connecting host families
with language school students
Hosting an international student in your home can be a rewarding and enriching experience for both the host family and the student.
my UK Homestay works with language schools in the Southend-on-sea area to place students who are studying English with a host family. The students are usually coming to the UK for an immersive English language experience for one or two weeks long. The students have classes in the morning that focus on speaking exercises and then a range of activities and excursions in the afternoon. There will also be a full day excursion on the Saturday. Outside of these times we welcome our host families to connect, share, learn and also enjoy the experience of hosting an international student.

While hosting an international student can be a positive experience, you are sharing your home, therefore it’s also important for both the host family and student to have clear expectations and open communication to ensure the time with each other is successful.
